How can you reduce the risk of injury and best prepare to compete?
Injuries are one of the greatest hurdles to not achieving and performing in sports and often strike us when we least expect it. Many of these injuries can be prevented through simple but effective practice and preparation. Let us take you through the key factors that help keep you doing what you love and aspire to achieve.
This talk by Brayden and Michelle from Healthzone Physiotherapy will discuss injury prediction, prevention and best management tools, including training load periodisation, focused flexibility and strength, “warming up”, screening tools and how to improve your movement competency.
Brayden Visser is a leading Physiotherapist with extensive experience in working with a wide variety of sports at the national and international level. His approach is practical, tailored, and holistic. He is currently the Lead Physiotherapist with Tennis NZ.
Michelle Rellis is a leading Physiotherapist from Ireland who has a special interest in sports and paediatrics, in particular adolescent athletes. She has extensive experience in working with a wide variety of sports at the national and international level. She is currently the Lead Physiotherapist for Surfing New Zealand.
